ABOUT US
Here at Category Approved Cars, we supply vehicles that are expertly prepared to give our customers real peace of mind when purchasing their next car.
It’s estimated that a large proportion of vehicles on UK roads will have been involved in an accident at some point in their lifetime. That means when you buy a second-hand car, there’s a fair chance it has had some form of repair previously, even if it’s never been recorded as a category vehicle.
A vehicle is only recorded as Category N or Category S when an insurance company decides it is not financially viable for them to repair. This decision is based on the insurer’s own costs, policies, and repair tolerances, not simply whether a vehicle can be repaired safely. Once categorised, the vehicle may be sold back into the marketplace, repaired outside of the insurer’s cost model, and returned to the road.
Category N refers to non-structural damage.
Category S refers to structural damage.
Both categories can be repaired safely when the work is carried out correctly and to a high standard.
At Category Approved Cars, whether we have completed the repairs ourselves or we are supplying a vehicle that has already been professionally repaired, we ensure every car is thoroughly inspected. All vehicles are supplied with a fresh MOT (where applicable), an in-depth condition report, and a comprehensive RAC warranty, so you can buy with confidence.
